Record sleeves are pieces of artwork, which should be preserved. A record with no scratches and an intact record sleeve can fetch a good price.
Records should be stored in their jackets in protective sleeves to keep them in tip top condition and prevent damage.
Keep records upright to stop them warping and give them enough space so the jackets can 'breathe'.
Try to keep records away from direct sunlight as this will fade the covers.
